Henry Smyth, Director

Granville Cooper Asset Management Ltd. (GCAM) is a limited liability corporation under the jurisdiction of the British Virgin Islands. GCAM was organized in 2000 to provide investment advisory services to the Granville Cooper Funds. Henry Smyth launched two funds in 2000: the Granville Cooper Latin American Fund Ltd. and the Granville Cooper Mexico Fund Ltd. Both funds were based on two Coutts & Co funds managed by Mr. Smyth. In 2003, following the redemption of shares by a seed investor, and after a strategic review by Mr. Smyth, the funds were reorganized and renamed the Granville Cooper Gold Fund I Ltd. and Granville Cooper Gold Fund II Ltd. A continuous audited net asset valuation was maintained for both funds during this period.

The investment management of both Granville Cooper Funds is the primary responsibility of Henry Smyth. Mr. Smyth brings over twenty-five years of banking and investment management experience to his management of the funds. Prior to the launch of the first Granville Cooper Funds, he was the investment manager to the Coutts & Co Latin American Liquidity Fund Ltd. and Mexico Liquidity Fund Ltd. from 1994 until their liquidation in 2000. During this time he built a track record of successive positive annual net asset valuations despite conditions of extreme market volatility. Under his stewardship, the Coutts & Co Mexico Liquidity Fund Ltd. won the Micropal award for best one, three, five and seven year performance in 1998.

While managing both Coutts & Co funds Mr. Smyth also managed a highly successful investment advisory program based on the private placement of short term Latin American corporate and bank securities on behalf of Coutts & Co's private banking client base.

Before his tenure at Coutts & Co, Mr. Smyth was an account officer in the Sovereign Risk Division of the National Westminster Bank in New York. There he was responsible for the bank's portfolio of loans in Brazil and Argentina. Mr Smyth began his banking career at the Manufactures Hanover Trust Company in New York in 1983. He completed their credit management training program and was assigned as an account officer to their Latin America Division on their Brazil Desk.

Mr. Smyth received his BA in International Relations from New College in Sarasota, Florida in 1980 and his MA in Diplomacy and International Commerce from the Patterson School of the University of Kentucky at Lexington in 1982.
