Henry Smyth
Granville Cooper Gold Fund II Ltd. was founded in 2000 with the investment objective of long-term outperformance of the US Dollar price of gold. Henry Smyth, the founder, serves as both an Executive Director and Chief Investment Officer of the Fund.
Henry brings over 37 years of international banking and investment management experience to Granville Cooper Gold Fund. Previously, he was an officer and fund manager at Coutts & Co. in New York, specializing in Latin American credit and foreign exchange. He is a graduate of the Credit Management
Training Program at the Manufacturers Hanover Trust Company, where he served as a bank officer in the Latin American division and later held the same position at National Westminster Bank USA.
Henry holds a BA in International Political Economy from New College of Florida in Sarasota, Florida, and an MA in Diplomacy and International Commerce from the Patterson School at the University of Kentucky in Lexington.
To further serve his alma mater, Henry is a member of the New College of Florida Foundation Board of Directors. He is also a member of the Grand Bahama Performing Arts Society and the Bahamas Air Sea Rescue Association, which brings him closer to the community of Freeport, the Bahamas in which he and his wife, Susan, reside.
